Are YOU Shariah Compliant?

...If there is now going to be two separate types of law in Britain - one for Muslims and one for non-Muslims, then its time for Muslims to really buckle up and realise their end goal. The glitz and glam are temporary whilst the gardens of paradise are forever. Man-made laws can easily be broken (as we have seen recently with the cases of Babar Ahmed, Talha Ahsan and Gary McKinnon) but laws ordained by God are to stay forever. They are justice for all. Time to become Shariah Compliant Muslims - in every aspect of our lives. We need to understand what it means to be Muslim. Yes, we are human and we will make mistakes. But Islam is perfect. As they say; 'If not now then when? If not You then who?'

Allah does not change the condition of a people until they don't change it themselves (with their souls) - {13:11}. We have to take the first step in making positive changes in our world - otherwise the rights of humans will be grossly abused and misused and we'll have no one except ourselves to blame.

All humans have a right to a fair trial and there is no room for racism, discrimination or favouritism in our world in 2012.

Stand up for YOUR rights today - NOW because if one human is mistreated by those whom are appointed to protect rights then we're all being mistreated. If one person is unlawfully incarcerated then we're all wrongfully incarcerated. If one human is free and treated fairly then we're all free!

Let's stop hiding in our houses and let's become more proactive.

This begins with freeing our own homes of injustice and wrong actions. We're not random specs of dust floating in this planet. We're human beings with God given rights which we need to uphold and protect insha'Allah.

Its time we truly became 'Shariah Compliant Muslims' and live by the laws of Allah!

The question is; 'Are YOU ready to become Shariah Compliant?'

GUILTY! Until Proven Innocent!

...If we can't trust our own country, the officials and authorities who are appointed for our care, safety and well being then what of that country and its laws?

But the law of the Creator of the Heavens and Earth - the entire Universe is Greater than any law.

He created man from a mixed fluid - lowest of low and gave him honour. And now man thinks he's greater than his Creator? Man challenges the One who created him?

Allah's true servants have and always will be tested and the most tested were the Prophets. Who are we next to the chosen ones? Nothing! But Allah's true ones will be tested.

Proof - there is life to come - which is better than the life on earth because earth is also a creation of our Creator.

Never despair in the mercy of the Creator of the Universe as only He holds the keys to infinite wisdom.

Let us work harder - day and night - me and you. Let us work harder for the life to come insha'Allah...

turBo flow Studies

OK, so I have an important announcement to make - a special announcement - one which you will all be happy with insha'Allah :)

I've been a student of knowledge forever (as in since I can remember) and I love studying.

I'm a student of knowledge of both Islamic sciences as well as secular studies.

My official background is Law (Criminal Justice and Human Rights) and I have also read for an Islamic Studies degree.

I have been studying Islam - as a student of sacred knowledge - 'officially' - since 1994 (I was 14) walhamdulilah.

I have also been teaching Islam to kids since 2001 and since the launch of my KSC in 2009 I have also recently started teaching Islamic studies to older women - those who have a basic understanding of Islam and want to learn more.

So, I have decided that, since Allah (swt) has blessed me so much in all my studies, and I love writing and sharing etc, I will write short essay's - both Islamic Studies and the Law on Human Rights (from my secular studies) and publish them as pdf downloadable documents for you all, insha'Allah.

It will be on a monthly basis - at the end of the month- and depending on all other studies and work that I'm doing - I may increase that to bi-monthly insha'Allah.

Knowledge is to be shared and I know that you're all regular visitors to my blog - you're inspired and motivated by my blog to make positive changes in your world and you're all my family.

As y'all know I'm default right brain creative. So these essays won't be 'boring' but will be interactive - as in getting you to think and reflect - and also very visual - as in diagrams/pictures, insha'Alah.

I need your duas so that I can fit everything into my schedule as there is so much to learn, apply, achieve, pass on - before my demise insha'Allah :)

My life is devoted to studying and worshipping Allah and through my journey I hope to make the knowledge available to you all - right here - on this blog.

(I just need to figure out the best way to upload documents here to blogger - if you have any tips/pointers - please let me know).

That was today's announcement. I hope and pray that Allah (swt) accepts this from me, makes it easy for me, makes us all successful both in this world and the next insha'Allah, ameen!

You can read my extensive bio right here insha'Allah http://www.webeinspired.com/about.html (click on the link). And for testimonials click http://www.webeinspired.com/testimonials.html

Oh and {SHARE the KHAIR} - (as in share this post!) :)

Rohingya - The Forgotten People

They are branded as one of the most persecuted communities in the world by the UN, yet nobody knows their name.

They are the forgotten people.

In recent weeks, the escalating violence has displaced more than 90,000 Rohingya people. Villages are being burnt, people are being abducted, concentration camps are being created, women are being raped and children mercilessly killed. The persecution against the Rohingya can be described in no other terms but that of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

#SaveMaryam

...In Islam there is no compulsion in religion! {Surah 2: Verse 256}

Everyone is entitled to seek for themselves and to find and chose the right path.

When one becomes the seeker of the truth - the Truth Himself will manifest and guide to the straight path.

However, over in Indonesia something quite different and sinister is happening.

Please watch this video and help #SaveMaryam, help #SaveIslam and help #SaveIndonesia

Freedom of Speech and Movement!

Oh, the irony! - and talk about upholding the values and principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)!

And what really gets to me (and since this is my blog I can give my opinions) is the fact that I paid £3,600 to read for a Masters degree just this last year in LLM International Human Rights so I could work in the field of 'human rights' and do my part in spreading some peace in the universe. I guess the saying is true - 'help yourselves before you help others' - so I suppose I will need to help the UK understand what the values and principles of the UDHR are before I go around spreading peace!

Dr Zakir Naik, a renowned Indian speaker on 'comparative religion' and with a mission to spread peace across the globe has been excluded from entering the UK for his 'Peace Tour' - where he would have delivered speeches across London, Birmingham and Sheffield.

The New British Parliament suddenly sees him as a threat - why? Well, for spreading peace! (Exactly!).

The media has done a fantastic job as always to misinterpret people and to spread hate - taking many things out of context and using them where they feel appropriate - to cause more hate and problems.

And, as always, it is left to the peaceful citizens to pick up the pieces! Sometimes I wonder, 'how do these people sleep at night?!'

But we shall persevere - and we shall work even harder to spread peace and harmony. If you would like to read more about this issue or in fact get involved and do your part or have your say then please check the following website.

No Excuses - Its 2010!

...You ever wondered who these Islamists are? Where do they come from? What do they want? What is their hidden agenda and why are they so against the 'Western World'???

...Yeah - I'm still wondering who they are too! :D

My name is turBo - and I'm NOT a terrorist! But y'all knew that right?...Right??? At this point you can all nod your heads to say 'yes, we know you ain't!'

Ive called this post 'No Excuses - its 2010'. Why? Simply because we are at an advanced stage of the human race where man has (through God's Will) made many discoveries - education, medicine, technology etc and everything is literally at our fingertips.

If we need to find out about something - we use the popular search engines on the Internet and the info appears infront of us within seconds.

However, this advancement - although its for our benefit - can also be very detrimental if it falls in the wrong hands! Too many people hating and wanting to cause friction between each other and communities.

Amongst these people there are those who have devoted their lives - or atleast part of it - in spreading the truth and providing us all with information which can open our minds and change the way we think - for the better.

I know there are many of you who visit my blog from across the globe - and I have no idea whether you are male or female or whether you are a person of a faith or not. You may have come across alot of stuff on the Internet as well as television about Muslims and because most of it is negative you now have a very negative view of Muslims (not all of you ofcourse).

I don't blame you - because media is a very powerful tool. I'm part of the media - and this blog is truly international - so I know what effects my words can have once written and posted.

So we don't have an excuse - if we don't know something - we search it - and we should. We should make up our own mind about things and not be influenced by negative media coverages.

So, here in the UK some professionals have got together to help us understand who Muslims are and what Islam teaches. Ive checked out the website and I'm giving it a thumbs up and sharing it with you all here. Please check it out - enjoy the read and pass it on to all those whom may benefit.
The campaign is called; 'Inspired by Muhammad' and the link to the website is: http://inspiredbymuhammad.com/

Aafia Siddiqui - Where is the Justice?

...Imagine you're out one day with your family, enjoying the time together - imagine you're out on some missionary work, helping the worlds most underprivileged people - imagine you're in a lecture theatre telling the room full of students about the injustice in the world and how one day they can bring about some change - imagine being kidnapped, raped, beaten, tortured - imagine being a woman, disgraced, torn from her family, husband and children and imagine your children disappeared into thin air never to be seen again - ever!
She is known to many in the world as 'Prisoner #650' and she is standing trial for....well lets see now....being a law abiding citizen wrongly accused of having links with terrorists and plotting against the west?
Aafia Siddiqui - a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother - a Victim!
Who will be the Voice of the Voiceless??? And who will stand up for Justice - for Dr Aafia Siddiqui?
To read about her story and her trial and to help her please visit the following website which has been set up by her family http://www.freeaafia.org/ at least pray for her and ask the Almighty to help her through this....you never know....it could be one of us next....

Police Powers v Abuse of Powers

How do we feel - you and I - when those entrusted with the responsibility, authority and duty to protect us are the ones who end up abusing us? Whom then does one turn to? (The Lord!, I hear you all saying - and a fantastic answer - pat yourself on the back - we really are on the same page!) :-D

Police brutality (such a harsh word 'brutality', I know) isn't a new phenomenon in our societies - whichever one we are in (this blog has become global - so it could be happening where you are) - but has been going on for a long long time. Is it because man has been empowered with such a duty that he (she) feels obligated to exert his/her 'power' in whatever way 'to make them feel good or more powerful than you?' You know like a bully at school picking on someone younger - just because they are younger! Or is there something in their training? Are they conditioned into being the abusers rather than helpers? Is something sinister happening here? Hmm
I blog about this because almost a year ago there was an incident which affected me very deeply and left me scared for some time after. The police force and their job to protect us was something I valued and respected a lot (I'm from the legal background myself - so we're on the same team) and I know - just because there is one bad apple - we can't chop away the entire tree - because really it does bear good fruit! But - this incident did affect me and got me thinking more and more about all those across UK and ofcourse worldwide who get stopped daily by the police - 'stop and search' procedures as well as the whole terrorist incidents that we had - but again if you and I can say, 'it's just one bad apple' then why can't they? Yes, they have a job to do and they need to protect society and national security and all that - but really, honestly - there are some very nasty characters working for the police force!
Police have certain powers, to stop and search - if they suspect you of lets say drugs or terrorist behaviour or something - but randomly stopping every next person (actually every next person who looks like the dude who was last caught playing with things that he shouldn't have been - maybe it was a school science project?). They can also come to your house with a warrant - detailing the reason for the search etc - but honestly, after the incident that happened, I truly believe that they are abusing their powers - or what powers the law has given them. I said to one senior officer; 'I was born in this country (UK) and I work for the law and I respected the police force - up until today - for if I'm injured or hurt in anyway then the last number I would dial is 999'!
No one should ever feel the way i felt at that point - but hey I'm human and it hurt!
There is alot of 'Abuse of Powers' now! I mean, the last decade - because of all the terrorist attacks - the amount of police brutality has increased and continues to increase. More of the local areas are policed - and I feel that again it is to show the communities, 'look who is more powerful'.
All of us at some point are given some 'powers' - authority over something. It is a duty to uphold it to the best of our abilities - to succeed at what we are doing - BUT not to abuse those powers!
Ultimately there is only One power that is mightier than any human authority on planet earth - and doh! who gave man the ability to act in a powerful way anyway? We all know what Pharaoh said and we all know what happened to him!
All i can say, on a positive note is, believe in the one who created you (depends on your beliefs) and as Muslims believe, 'If Allah brought you to it, then He will take you through it - successfully!'
Do be vigilant and don't act naive - time to smarten up dude and get with it! - We need to be with it to get through it and 'what don't kill you only makes you stronger'.
All across the globe we see some form of police brutality and abuse of powers - we need to get together and do something about it - we need the police force - their purpose is to protect us and ensure society is safeguarded from harm - however they should not abuse their powers - then they don't even deserve the job they are in! We need to raise awareness about this issue and start a campaign or something...something...
Stay safe peeps - wherever you are - and truly - there is always that one bad apple - lets not chop the whole tree down - I may have had that one bad experience in life - but I won't let it haunt me - and you may also have had that one bad experience - but there is still good amongst the rotten apples - lets just remind them when they need reminding! :-D

The Conspiracy Theory...

...Are YOU a conspiracist? Do YOU believe in the conspiracy theory? Hmmm...

There are many 'Conspiracy Theories' out there today - from wars to movies to governments and even the media.
So much so that you think, 'hmmm - so like now is this in itself a conspiracy?'
Wiki on the web (bless it!) describes it as; "A conspiracy theory is a term that has come to refer to any tentative theory which explains a historical or current event as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful Machiavellian conspirators, such as a "secret team" or "shadow government" (There are other definitions also...)
Have YOU come across conspiracy theories? What do you think of them? Are they for real? Why are people so fascinated by this theory? Boredom? Or is our world really controlled by the 'Elite' whose plan is to take over each and every mind, being, country and nation? Do people really worship the devil and have 'sold their souls to the devils' If so, how can we protect ourselves? Do we need to Wise up and tread carefully - Big Brother could be watching, right? Or - is it a hoax? - to scare the living daylights out of us all - (because 'Big Brother' really is bored!)

Media and Mind Control!

...Now this is a very powerful medium! One which can easily control your thoughts, feelings and actions and you don't even realise what influenced you!
Media a medium for information or Mind Control?
A theme which is running through some of my blog posts is that everything in life has a plus and a minus - a positive and a negative - a good and a bad. They co-exist side by side - it wouldn't be called 'life' if we didn't have two opposites - a choice to make - which path shall we walk upon - what decision to make - what will lead to my success and what will lead to my failure. Now this is life and we all have to live it and right now you and I are living it.
So again with media there is the good and the bad. We believe that media can inform us - of events around us, educate us - open our minds and expand our thinking - but when we watch TV or listen to music how much of it is consciousness and how much subconsciousness.
What if we switched on the TV or popped on some music on the radio after a long time - would we fall straight back into it and be deeply engrossed in it or would we be aware of what we are watching and listening to and naturally questioning it? I think that once we stop listening to music or watching TV and go back to it after a long time we are more aware of what message it is giving us and therefore we automatically start questioning it.
But when something has been part of your life for like forever - since childhood - we become indoctrinated - and we don't question it no more.
The devil took a vow a long long time ago and he said that he would take people to the fire with him, those that listen and transgress their own souls and the divine Scriptures and message. He, the devil, said that he will attack them from their fronts, behinds, lefts, rights and forever be ready to whisper devilish thoughts to man (and woman!). To some he is known as Satan, to some Iblis or Shaytaan, to some Lucifer the fallen angel, to some Raven and I'm sure he has many other names - but he is one and he is the same - Devil!
Media has made an immense impact on our lives for decades now - and when as a child we are put infront of the TV then lo behold - the indoctrination begins. And we just simply say, 'there is no harm to it - its only a cartoon/children's program'. But how many programs are truly actually children's programs - Ive watched them, grew up on them and am sure you can all relate to them also.
There are also many who have 'sold their souls to the Devil' - in return for what??? Worldly goods? Which, when we die, remain behind? Well unless you believe in the whole mummification thing and want take Poodle your cute chiwawa with you - and so you write it in your will that when you die please ask the vets to give him the lethal injection so he can accompany you to the next world and be your BBF - best friend like forever since clearly you didn't have any friends on planet earth - then remember, once you leave this world - everything remains behind! Even Poodle!
But alas - there are some knit wits who have decided to 'worship' Satan and work for him - so hey where better to start to screw up your mind forever than when you're a baby - because by the time you reach your teens - its all 'natural' now and part of your lives - its not the same without.
Media is another one of those technological advancements which are here to aid us in our existence to do good. I'm on the radio, I'm writing this blog, I write short stories, I was an editor for a magazine back in the days (set it up at college from scratch and very successful alhamdullilah) so media, after Islam, writing and law is next in life for me - I fall into it naturally - but I use it to do good and spread good and also be aware of that which is negative and the message it is trying to send.
Some use media to advance their hatred towards others - whoever those others are across the globe - could be you and I. Others want us to grow up and become immoral, unethical and without principles. Our children are our future - when we were their age, we were the future - lets ask ourselves - what difference have we made? And has media shaped our thoughts, feelings and actions.
Mind-control is to control your thoughts and behaviour so you believe in a certain thing and act in a certain way. Just ask yourselves - what kind of individual you want to be? Why were you put here on earth or better still why were you created? And how can YOU make a difference in the world - or even your own world.
Don't let anyone control your mind - don't let the system control you - don't become robots - you are humans and geniuses - not machines!
Don't forget to watch 'The Arrivals' - if you haven't already (Ive watched it four times!) - if you live like a hermit (i like the hermit life) time to come out and see what is truly happening in the world.
The mind is a powerful tool which can bring out the genius in you and lead you to many developments - with the blessings and the will of the Divine - don't let the devil take it from you - its Yours!

Cyber Attacks fast becoming Cyber Warfares!

Over the years and decades there have been many technological advancements and progressions. The Internet has quickly become number one in our lives. Almost everything now is done on the net - which is a little scary! Socialising and making friends? - On the net. Buying and selling? - On the net. Studying and learning? - On the net. Finding a life partner??? - On the net?!.
As discussed in one of the previous posts the Internet can be used for both good and bad - so I'm not going to blog about or lists all the good and bad - but will look at something which has been in the media a lot lately - so many of you will be aware of it and many wont (just depends if you keep up with the news and stuff).
Human beings have been immensely blessed by the Creator with so many skills and abilities - skills and abilities which help us further our existence - fulfil our goals and aims and make the most of our lives - well we only have one life on planet earth!
The Internet can help us study online to further our skills in a particular field and we can still work full time. So its a good thing - but many people across the globe are using their skills and abilities to cause harm to others. If one is suffering from psychological issues then I strongly suggest that one seeks medical assistance immediately - for you have to be a fool to be wasting your sills and abilities harming others - and not helping others! And what precisely is one achieving by doing wrong? A little fame? But for how long? Your harming yourselves as well as others and that is not the purpose of creation!
As the Internet is advancing so are people skills and abilities. Once upon a time you had hackers and they thought they were cool or 'geniuses' - but when your behind bars then well you're not a genius anymore are you, genius?!
The whole hacking business led to cyber attacks - on individuals, on corporations, educational institutions and governments . Alot of damage was done. They thought they were one step ahead and they would get away with it - but not for long.
And now what do we have?
Cyber Attacks has become Cyber Warfare! Forget the army training, battlefields and loss of life - we are talking about Warfare via invisible means (through the wires!).
Basically cyber warfare is using the Internet in conducting warfare in cyberspace. It is carried out by small individual groups to large groups - warfare on governments and nations.
From the securitypronews.com website on the 17th of November 2009 we have the following; "Dave DeWalt, the president and CEO of McAfee, said in a statement, "[S]everal nations around the world are actively engaged in cyberwar-like preparations and attacks." These include China, France, Israel, Russia, and the U.S., and it's no secret that the members of this group aren't all on great terms. What's more, cyberwarfare's barrier to entry is so low in comparison to traditional hostilities (a roomful of computers vs. thousands of men, tanks, and airplanes) that lots of other countries are almost sure to pursue the idea. Then, if and when the virtual bullets start flying, things could get really nasty. McAfee reported, "Attackers are not only building their cyberdefenses, but cyberoffenses, targeting infrastructure such as power grids, transportation, telecommunication, finance and water supplies, because damage can be done quickly and with little effort."
What happened to traditional ways of getting your point across? And its not individuals who are going to be harmed - masses - so the need? Personally I think this has gone too far - seriously, if you are reading this and are involved in it - then kindly leave my blog as its not for people like you! - and you're the fools here - you have to meet your Creator one day soon - so honestly I hope you have a speech ready to justify your actions - as it aint gona work!
Wasting precious time in life on something like cyberwar when you could be doing so much to help people - educate people, create job opportunities - yes we have issues with our governments, there's corruption, money-laundering, terrorism - but ultimately it leads to YOUR destruction. Come online and use the net for useful stuff - become useful in life - not engage in warfare - you have a point to make , situations to change - then get up, make an action plan and try to change the situation - many in our past have - they didn't resort to violence - they taught, the suffered, they worked hard and they persevered - and they achieved! For both you and I.
And for all those who weren't aware about this new warfare - then be vigilant and watch what you do (don't panic) but don't engage with dodgy people online - especially if you have never spoken to them before and if you want to change a situation wherever you are then make an action plan, put all your skills and abilities on the table and make the change - it will happen.
For those who engage in cyber criminality - then don't forget, your time will come - behind bars as well as the fire of hell! Hope you're prepared for that warfare! :)

Hijaab - A Personal Choice and A Fundamental Human Right!

...what is a terrorist? who defines the word 'terror' - a dictionary or those in power? It seems as though everyone is becoming a terrorist these days - terrorising others! New trend eh? Instead of accepting and acknowledging differences - what happens? you get terrorised for being 'different' - actually hold up - let me rewind - you don't actually get terrorised (verbal abuse or physical abuse) you get killed - MURDERED!

This has happened recently - in the past week - in Europe - Germany. Dr Marwa al-sherbini, 32 year old, married with a 3 year old son and 3 months pregnant with her second baby, was an Egyptian who had sued her attacker after he had insulted her for wearing her headscarf - hijaab. She was stabbed 18 times in the courtroom where she went to give evidence against her attacker. The German police reacted - fired shots - no, not at her attacker - but her husband - who ran to defend his wife!

The whole world - from east to west is preaching HUMAN RIGHTS - protect this right, protect that right - legislation's and treaties are being passed here, there and everywhere - all in the name of protecting 'human rights' - but tell me, what about Dr Marwa's right? and her unborn baby? they weren't human? So she observed the religious headscarf - which made her different in her attackers eyes and he thought hey - lets just stab her to death - she's not a human with any rights!

Sickening - revolting and absolutely horrific!

Those very people who are preaching 'human rights' mantras are the ones who are violating it - and allowing it to happen!
After completing my masters in International Human Rights this year, I am not only saddened by this incident, but am truly wondering - what is all this human rights talk all about? Is it just selective? So now you have to belong to a certain group or have certain beliefs and thoughts - only then can you be seen as 'human' and have 'rights'.

Hijaab is a fundamental and integral part of a Muslim woman's life - she has made a choice to protect her modesty and observe the laws of God - its HER choice - and its MY choice - a proud 'hijaabi' who loves and respects everyone and their differences!

If someone is 'different' from you or holds 'different' beliefs - why not talk to them? Get to know them - and ask questions - see what its all about!

The world belongs to God - not man! To live in this world we all need to respect each other and get to know each other - you can't claim what aint yours!
She was a doctor, helping humanity - protecting humans and their rights - and her rights were taken away from her!

Marwa and her unborn - truly the first Muslim Martyr! Justice Will Be Done!
Hijaab is a personal choice and a Fundamental Human Right - its here to stay - and turBo says...'DEAL WITH IT!'

Ceasefire or NO ceasefire – that is the Question! War On Gaza

“Day 15 – I woke up and smiled – looked around my room and it felt peaceful, then all of a sudden I heard a strange, loud sound – I got out of my bed and looked out the window and saw something big coming towards my house – it came right through my window – THE END!”

Is this how someone would be feeling right now in the Gaza strip? Or has this become a norm for them? Would there be such a scenario and then, ‘The End’? Well truth be known none of us can feel what the people in Gaza are feeling right now – or have felt since the War on Gaza started – its Day 15 now – and there seems to be no end to this violent massacre of innocent lives – among them many women, children and babies! (Yes little angels who came into this world and have no clue as to why they have been suddenly taken away in such a horrific way).

Have you watched all the different News Channels? Well i’m not going to mention any names – I don’t really need to, as you all would know which is which, and who is saying what – but some News Channels report the war as, ‘War In Gaza’ and some as ‘War On Gaza’ – I know it’s just two simple words – ‘in’ and ‘on’, but it’s amazing how it can change the meaning of the whole issue.

People around the globe, including here in the UK, have been demonstrating, protesting, writing to prominent figures, lobbying, boycotting and ensuring that the word is out and basically everyone is doing their part to create awareness.

This should all continue – the Security Council on Friday passed a resolution (despite USA not voting) to end the War and agree on an immediate Ceasefire – but this has not been accepted by either side involved in the war – so, continues the fighting, the bombs, the rockets and the loss of innocent lives.

What I would like to point out in this blog is that there should be more awareness on the legal side of what is happening – i.e what the role of the UN is and what the Security Council can do and how this issue can be resolved – why? Well i’m from a legal background and currently studying LLM International Human Rights at Uni and it wasn’t until I started attending my Public International Law lectures that the whole Human Rights, Genocide, UN and its members etc started to make sense.

I think people in the legal profession should hold workshops for ordinary people who are not familiar with this area and create awareness. I say this because when something like this happens (War/Genocide) many people become hot-headed and hot-tempered and say or do things which may actually make the situation worse. Ofcourse it’s not their fault! It would be like, urm, a medical issue, and i’m not from a medical background – but let’s say that some form of medical negligence has taken place – well my reaction to it is going to be different to those from a medical background – and once they have explained the situation to me, then I act accordingly.

Yes we should continue with demos, protests, lobbying, boycotting – but I think there should also be long term projects – which deal with community awareness and explaining how certain national/international legal factors work – which we could all get involved in – and we could all learn (that’s not to say that everyone has to read for a law degree and become barristers/solicitors) but so we know how to react and how to explain these issues to the wider community.

What do you all think?

In the meantime let’s all continue with our efforts to highlight the War On Gaza and continue praying also – remember the power of prayer – it can change everything. May Allah (swt) show us all a way to help those in need, may He accept everyone’s efforts to help bring an end to the war and may the suffering of the people of Gaza end soon – Ameen!
