Happy 4th Birthday turBo flow Blog!

Masha'Allah - can you believe it? It's four years today that I launched turBo flow blog and wrote my very first blog post and started my online blogging, vlogging and then entrepreneurship.

Where have the years gone? Subhan'Allah!

I want to take this opportunity to say jazaakumullah khairun and thank you to ALL of you who have been following this blog since four years as well as reading the weekly posts and sharing them.

I am truly grateful and I truly appreciate YOU!

May Allah (swt) reward YOU and your loved ones immensely and answer ALL your duas in this world and next - ameen!

I do have long term plans for turBo flow blog these include pdf reminders (from all the classes I have attended - as you know I'm a student of knowledge) as well as tafsir reminder videos as I memorise the surah's insha'Allah.

One God

...There is only ONE God - Creator of the Heavens, Earth and all Creation. Creator of you and me. If you're a human then God created you. The same God who created me. There's no logic behind giving a human being a status of God because if we are human then we would all want to be God. Let's not elevate anyone to the status of God whether Prophets or Scholars. Some humans are chosen to perform miracles only by God's Will. But they are not God. So God is not human. God is beyond our imagination. God is Light. Moses wanted to see God. He was a chosen Prophet. He was better than you and me. And what happened? God told him to look at the mountain, if it stays in its place then Moses would be able to see God. But as soon as God revealed Himself to the mountain it turned to ashes and Moses lost consciousness. Even the mountain couldn't handle the shear Magnificence of God. God is not human. We are all searching for spirituality and meaning of life. All are in search of the One. God. And God has One message for us all. Worship Him only. *Reflect*.

Path of Seeking Knowledge for Allah (swt)

1. Zuhud - Not in leaving material things alone, but for one's heart not to be attached to worldly matters. Renunciation - Leave excess matters (that which is beyond/without benefit). Strive to liv

e hadith of Prophet (pbuh) “From the excellence of a man's Islam is to leave that which does not concern him." Look at your day/week and what things are wasteful? leave it! Prioritise and leave most wasteful things first. Renounce that which doesn't benefit.

2. Knowledge - You need to know what you need to know. Know knowledge! Know the way of knowledge and purpose of knowledge. Purpose of knowledge - seeking closeness to Allah (swt). Pursue with purpose and benefit. Stages of seeking knowledge.

3. Tawakul - Has several aspects. Ignore what people say and focus on what benefits you. Remember Tawhid. You are weak and Allah fulfils all needs. Take means and having full tawakul in Allah. Must hang your heart to Allah. Attach heart to Allah. Striving yourself doesn't lead to success but Allah is the one who grants success - by taking the means. Serve with excellence knowing it’s only through Allah (swt). Will get many doubts but keep tawakul. Seek mentors who can advice. 

4. Certitude - Have complete trust. Prophet (pbuh) said; 'Allah has guaranteed paradise for three - one is seeker of knowledge'. Suspend those doubts. Follow the Sunnah and you will benefit in allsorts of ways. When reading book from scholars of past then have adab as though you are sitting in their presence. Have a point of connection with the Prophetic message. Attend gatherings of knowledge. Take online classes. What Allah and His Prophet have said is correct. Have conviction. Only speak with certainty and it will have impact.

These four above require nurturing.

Eid-ul-Adha Mabrook!

TaqabbaAllaahu minna wa minkum

May Allah swt accept your deeds and mine.

These are two of the most powerful words. Add another word next to it eg; 'I Am a Genius' and if you're inner core really believes it then it'll work wonders for your confidence and self-esteem.

Go on, try it! :)

Remember - your inner core, the depths of your soul need to believe it and once YOU believe it, YOU can achieve it!

Are YOU Shariah Compliant?

...If there is now going to be two separate types of law in Britain - one for Muslims and one for non-Muslims, then its time for Muslims to really buckle up and realise their end goal. The glitz and glam are temporary whilst the gardens of paradise are forever. Man-made laws can easily be broken (as we have seen recently with the cases of Babar Ahmed, Talha Ahsan and Gary McKinnon) but laws ordained by God are to stay forever. They are justice for all. Time to become Shariah Compliant Muslims - in every aspect of our lives. We need to understand what it means to be Muslim. Yes, we are human and we will make mistakes. But Islam is perfect. As they say; 'If not now then when? If not You then who?'

Allah does not change the condition of a people until they don't change it themselves (with their souls) - {13:11}. We have to take the first step in making positive changes in our world - otherwise the rights of humans will be grossly abused and misused and we'll have no one except ourselves to blame. 

All humans have a right to a fair trial and there is no room for racism, discrimination or favouritism in our world in 2012.

Stand up for YOUR rights today - NOW because if one human is mistreated by those whom are appointed to protect rights then we're all being mistreated. If one person is unlawfully incarcerated then we're all wrongfully incarcerated. If one human is free and treated fairly then we're all free!

Let's stop hiding in our houses and let's become more proactive. 

This begins with freeing our own homes of injustice and wrong actions. We're not random specs of dust floating in this planet. We're human beings with God given rights which we need to uphold and protect insha'Allah.

Its time we truly became 'Shariah Compliant Muslims' and live by the laws of Allah!

The question is; 'Are YOU ready to become Shariah Compliant?'

GUILTY! Until Proven Innocent!

...If we can't trust our own country, the officials and authorities who are appointed for our care, safety and well being then what of that country and its laws?

But the law of the Creator of the Heavens and Earth - the entire Universe is Greater than any law.

He created man from a mixed fluid - lowest of low and gave him honour. And now man thinks he's greater than his Creator? Man challenges the One who created him?

Allah's true servants have and always will be tested and the most tested were the Prophets. Who are we next to the chosen ones? Nothing! But Allah's true ones will be tested.

Proof - there is life to come - which is better than the life on earth because earth is also a creation of our Creator.

Never despair in the mercy of the Creator of the Universe as only He holds the keys to infinite wisdom.

Let us work harder - day and night - me and you. Let us work harder for the life to come insha'Allah...

turBo flow Studies

OK, so I have an important announcement to make - a special announcement - one which you will all be happy with insha'Allah :)

I've been a student of knowledge forever (as in since I can remember) and I love studying. 

I'm a student of knowledge of both Islamic sciences as well as secular studies.

My official background is Law (Criminal Justice and Human Rights) and I have also read for an Islamic Studies degree.

I have been studying Islam - as a student of sacred knowledge - 'officially' - since 1994 (I was 14) walhamdulilah.

I have also been teaching Islam to kids since 2001 and since the launch of my KSC in 2009 I have also recently started teaching Islamic studies to older women - those who have a basic understanding of Islam and want to learn more.

So, I have decided that, since Allah (swt) has blessed me so much in all my studies, and I love writing and sharing etc, I will write short essay's - both Islamic Studies and the Law on Human Rights (from my secular studies) and publish them as pdf downloadable documents for you all, insha'Allah.

It will be on a monthly basis - at the end of the month- and depending on all other studies and work that I'm doing - I may increase that to bi-monthly insha'Allah.

Knowledge is to be shared and I know that you're all regular visitors to my blog - you're inspired and motivated by my blog to make positive changes in your world and you're all my family.

As y'all know I'm default right brain creative. So these essays won't be 'boring' but will be interactive - as in getting you to think and reflect - and also very visual - as in diagrams/pictures, insha'Alah.

I need your duas so that I can fit everything into my schedule as there is so much to learn, apply, achieve, pass on - before my demise insha'Allah :)

My life is devoted to studying and worshipping Allah and through my journey I hope to make the knowledge available to you all - right here - on this blog.

(I just need to figure out the best way to upload documents here to blogger - if you have any tips/pointers - please let me know).

Rohingya - The Forgotten People

They are branded as one of the most persecuted communities in the world by the UN, yet nobody knows their name. 

They are the forgotten people.

In recent weeks, the escalating violence has displaced more than 90,000 Rohingya people. Villages are being burnt, people are being abducted, concentration camps are being created, women are being raped and children mercilessly killed. The persecution against the Rohingya can be described in no other terms but that of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Ramadan Mabrook!

May YOUR days and nights be full of ibaadah (worship), may you gain closeness to Allah (swt), may you have a deeper connection with the Qur'an and may ALL your duas be answered - ameen!

Be Creative!

...Be Creative! Look for creative ways to make your days the best and full of light and full of colour! All the answers you seek are within you. Work on your relationship with God and He (swt) will fix the rest! Work on your ibaadah (worship), your Prayers and your Qur'an. Read it, study it, ponder it, reflect upon it - daily.

What we lack - as a human race (amongst many things) is creativity! 

We need to bring back creativity into our lives.

Remember when we were younger? Exactly! 

No, You don't have to pull out your lego set from way back when but just try and get into the right brain now and then - especially if you're left brain logical.

Try it!

Add some creativity into your life and let me know how you get gone insha'Allah! :)

Little Brown Birdies

...When I was little - back in the 80's - there were lots of little brown birdies in my garden - always. They used to be everywhere. They sang from dawn til dusk and kept me company whilst I played with my dolls and teddy's in the garden.

They looked a bit like this (not my picture)...

But then I watched a program on BBC 1 (or 2) and they said that the once famous little brown garden birdie was on the brinks of extinction - since 2002!

And then it dawned upon me! I hadn't seen these birdies for such a long time. I do love bird watching, so I was familiar with the different types of birds that came to my garden.

Suddenly I became very upset. It was as though a part of me was being torn off - washed away - my childhood - my beautiful, beautiful childhood.

So I started talking to Allah Ji - as I do - and told Him how much I was missing these little brown birdies and made lots of dua for them and lo behold - by the mercy and will of Allah (swt) the Most Gracious, in May I spotted a little brown birdie in my garden - and another and then another and then SIX in total! By Allah! By jaw just dropped to the ground and I screamed; 'Mama! Mama! Look! My little brown birdies are back! Allah answered my dua and sent me my birdies!!!

And so then I had to feed them. I mean they were a special gift sent to me to bring back beautiful memories of my childhood. They were my responsibility! But WAIT! I didn't have a bird feeder?!

No worries! My creative right brain and turBo flowness got down to some serious creative business!

And so I made my own home bird feeder! :)

Here's the first one. I filled it up with bread and hung it up onto the pear tree and then waited. And waited. And waited! But they didn't come. They just sat on the rose bush! Maybe they couldn't see it - or see the food in it. So I left them over night and then at 5am the next morning, bright and early I ran into the garden to find...well...where was it? I couldn't find the bird feeder. Oh my God, what happened to my bird feeder? Where did it go??? I looked everywhere - in the garden - at 5am! Did someone steal it? Someone came into my garden? My heart was racing like a F1 sports car! And then, over yonder, I found it and this is what had happened to it! (See picture). Was it squirrels? Rats? Lord knows! But they climbed the tree over night, cleaned out the birdie feeder and cut the string (scoobie string) and threw it away! No, I wasn't happy either!

So later that day, I got back to work and I found something else in the kitchen and here it is - my birdie feeder. And masha'Allah, it's been a very successful feeder - it's kept those pigeons busy as well!!

And there you have it...hanging proudly on the pear tree! My homemade birdie feeder for my little brown birdies - my gift from Allah - my childhood memories! :)

Your Heart Is Precious...

...So look after it and don't abuse it or allow it to be abused.

Hand you heart over to Allah and He (swt) will guide you and inspire you to all the answers to your questions.

When you hand your heart over to the One who gave it life - He (swt) will give life to all your dreams, wishes and hopes.

He who has no one has Allah and he who has Allah has everything.

Look after YOUR heart - it's precious and YOU are precious! :)

LLM International Human Rights

...Hey, Salaamz Fam! Really sorry, I haven't updated blog for almost a month - It's crazy - I know! But so much was happening and I kept saying that I will update but never happened. I feel so bad! So forgive me and insha'Allah from this Monday onwards I will be back on track - keep me in your duas.

On Monday 12th March 2012 I graduated with a Masters Degree in LLM International Human Rights.

That's a pic of me and my King and Queen - they look gorgeous, don't they? Masha'Allah! :)

Make dua that I can do something useful with my degree and make a real difference in the world around me insha'Allah :)

What's Your Problem/Issue?

Facing a problem or issue and need help or advice?

Get creative!

Grab a pen and paper or your journal.

Draw a mind map (google mind-maps) - in the middle of the paper draw a circle, write your issue/problem in the form of a positive question and then for 15mins solid write all the answers that come to your mind non-stop.

Example: What do I need to do to get a job/get healthier and fit/get married? (Don't write why can't I get a job or get married - trust me, your brain will find an answer for that and it won't make you happy!)

Write all the answers that come to your head. The key is to let your mind free for 15mins solid and write for 15mins all that comes to your brain.

When you're done look at all your answers and group things together - some clearly won't belong on the sheet but its OK - we did let our mind loose for 15mins!

All the answers to your questions lie within you. Trust your own instincts, have faith in Allah and your questions will be answered.

Try it and let me know how it goes insha'Allah! :)

Be Courageous

‎...if at first you don't succeed - don't give up! Try again!

Maybe that thing isn't good for you - so go back to the drawing board, get creative and start again to figure out what it is that you're supposed to be doing - what is your 'Unique Purpose'.

We think we know - but Allah knows when we do not know!

Be Courageous and be willing to fall and learn - life's toughest lessons have only ever been learnt when we have fallen hard and then picked ourselves up again.

The answers to all your questions lie within you - so stop, take a deep breath and reconnect with your soul - don't look here and there for answers but look within and you will find what you're looking for insha'Allah.

How To Study

How To Study:-

1. Schedule: time EVERY week for your study sessions

2. Motivate: yourself to CONCENTRATE each time you study

3. Focus: set the TONE for your study sessions

4. Achieve: set your GOALS and get the most out of each study period

5. Review: make sure that you UNDERSTAND what you have studied and that you can REMEMBER it.

6. Look Ahead: prepare for your NEXT study session

I know these are simple steps - but we can always do with a reminder - especially me! lol :)

Make A Dua...

...This is just a short reminder, for myself firstly and foremostly and then all of you, my turBo flow fam, that please do not underestimate the power of dua.

Dua - made sincerely - can do incredible and powerful things.

When Allah (swt) accepts our duas we see miracles before our eyes.

So much happens daily - not only in our own lives but also across the globe - so please keep everyone in your duas - for we don't know whose dua Allah may accept and things can change positively for someone.

(Concluding notes from the weekend course I attended)

In a nutshell, a person has to have the following life-span plans - or in other words we need to set the following targets, iA:

Are YOU game? Good iA - here's the targets:

1. Target 1: Fix your relationship with the Book of Allah - the Qur'an. Make a target that by the end of 2012 you will perfect the recitation iA (Note - many online resources available for free to help you recite properly, utilize them iA).

2. Target 2: Make the Qur'an a part of your life and do not abandon it. It has all the answers for your life. Solutions to everything are in this Book. It is a guidance for us all.

3. Target 3: Make a plan to memorize the Qur'an. In old age when illnesses and diseases hit us and we cannot recite the Qur'an from memory we will really regret it.

4. Target 4: To go through the meaning of the verses and meaning of the Book - i.e. study the tafsir.

Also: Use time accordingly - make use of many short periods of time that are neglected, be organised on a daily, make sure you have access to the Qur'an always.

Finally: You cannot give your child any better gift than the gift of the Qur'an!

Attitude Check!

...This quote basically says it all!

It really, truly is all about our attitude - and our attitude can make or break.

Think about it for a moment - no one else has control over our attitude - it's something you and I possess - it's what each individual has - and we can all take charge and fix it up.

It's our attitude that determines the outcome of any circumstance or situation.

Next time you're in hot water just step back a moment, take a deep breath and then react.

Elders always say in Urdu; 'Think with a cold/cool mind'. And they are right because if we do cool down then we will react more calmly and the situation will cool down - and we can come up with creative ideas to solve the issues.

So, team turBo flow - let's check our attitude and let's fix it up insha'Allah - for as Winston Churchill; 'Attitude is a little thing which makes a big difference!'.
